Relaxation comes naturally at Kevalli House
If your idea of vacation is centered on relaxation, there are plenty of quiet places on the island to take in your surroundings. Spread across the property there are multiple private decks, lounge chairs, hammocks, and miles of private, sugar sand beach. Bring your favorite novel and unwind in one of these scenic spots.
Fun below the surface
Kevalli House provides the basic equipment you need to explore above and below the beautiful waters that surround the property. Snorkel at Mystery Cave just off the main dock in Hurricane Hole marina, kayak to hidden beaches, or enjoy a swim with the local wildlife. If you are interested in fishing (flats or deep sea), kiteboarding, or SCUBA diving, the island manager Norman can help you take advantage of the unique experiences Exuma has to offer.
Hiking on Stocking Island
Stocking Island has an extensive network of groomed trails and beaches to satiate the explorer in your group. The Island's trail system takes you past local wildlife through native vegetation to beautiful cliff overlooks, secluded beaches and local beach bars. Whether you are looking for an easy stroll or a strenuous workout, our trail systems provide a variety of options. All are accessible from Kevalli House.
Elizabeth Harbour by boat
Elizabeth Harbour offers a variety of things to do from local markets and package stores to beach bars and rentals. Visit the coral reefs, explore sunken boats or treat yourself to a fine dining experience at one of the restaurants overlooking the water. Minns Watersports in George Town is a great place to rents boats, dive gear, boards or plan your adventures with a local guide. Pickup souvenirs and book your next excursion while you explore historic Georgetown. Guided tours of the harbor are also available.
Exploring the Exuma Cays
If you are up for an adventure not soon forgotten, schedule a day trip through the Exuma Cays. Your local guide will take your group by speed boat over turquoise water past yachts and private islands to wind through the unique landscape of cays. Swim with nurse sharks, visit iguana beaches and swim with the pigs as you cruise between the sand bars and reefs along the way.
Island excursion on Great and Little Exuma
Rent a car or jump on one of the several fun-filled island tours offered on Exuma. Visit unrivaled beaches, historic ruins, and sample Bahamian fare at one of Exuma’s seaside restaurants.
Hit the beach bar
Head over to the Chat n’ Chill beach bar and grill for a fun-filled day of volleyball, BBQ, and a cool beverage. Pet a stingray at the stingray experience, or relax by the water drink in hand as you wait for the pig roast to begin.
Spend some time underwater
Exuma Bahamas is renowned for its crystal clear water and amazing visibility. Book a trip with one of the islands dive shops to visit some of the best spots around.
Walk to St. Francis Resort
You can easily walk to St. Francis Resort from Kavalli House via the beach, day or night.
Lumina Point Restaurant
The newest restaurant on Stocking Island, Lumina Point, is a short boat ride away.
Travel Information
Flights
There are several direct flights to George Town (GGT), Exuma (the closest airport to Kevalli House) from Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Atlanta (ATL), Charlotte (CLT), and Toronto (YYZ). Alternatively, you can fly into Nassau (NAS) from many cities in the US or Europe, and catch a regional airline (Bahamasair or Sky Bahamas) to Exuma (GGT).
Getting to Kevalli House
A 20-minute cab ride takes you from the airport to the government dock in George Town where Norman, Kevalli Island manager, will pick you up via water taxi for the ride to Kevalli House. Norman is available to schedule pickup and drop off via WhatsApp at your leisure.
Getting around once you are here
Stocking Island is traversable by foot (and we like it that way!) Your primary mode of transportation once here will be by foot or boat. If you are boat savvy and would prefer access to your own vessel, we highly recommend renting from Minns’ Watersports in George Town. If you prefer to allow a professional to handle your water transportation, Norman (who currently lives on island) is available as water taxi service to take you anywhere within the harbor. You will not need a car to get to George Town where there are numerous businesses, including a well-stocked grocery store, car rental, boat rental, straw market, library, and a nice variety of restaurants. There are several car rental companies on Great Exuma if you would like to explore more of the island on your own.
